AGRICULTURAL BIOTECHNOLOGY
A basic and applied research with microorganisms is made due to develop products and processes in order to improve quality and productivity of crops. It emphasizes in biologic control of pests in agricultural, forestal and public health area; Genomic and Biochemical studies of entomopathogenic microorganisms use them as bioinsecticides, also new classification methods are developed.
Lines of Research :Isolation, identification and characterization of microorganisms in order to develop processes to biologic control of pests in agricultural, forest and public health area, emphasizing in Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria and fungi Isaria fumosorosea, Beauveria bassiana, and Hirsutella citriformis.
Lines of Research: Development of processes and products to usage of agricultural waste.
