A basic and applied research with microorganisms is made, using traditional technologies and recombinant DNA in order to develop products and feasible processes to transfer them to industrial area. Wild and modified genetically microorganisms are developed and studied in order to use them in industrial processes. Also bioprocesses are developed and optimized to produce and recovery microorganisms and their metabolites.

RESEARCH LINES

Development, optimization and scaling of bioprocesses in order to produce bioinsecticides through Bacillus thuringiensis and entomopathogenic fungi.

RESEARCH LINES

Characterization and development of applications of advanced material based on biopolymers applicable in food and pharmaceutics area.

RESEARCH LINES

Use of microorganisms (especially filamentous fungi) and their enzymes in industrial processes through renewable resources.

RESEARCH LINES

Getting subproducts (biopolymers, antioxidants, antimicrobials) with high potential to develop functional ingredients available in food, pharmacy and cosmetics through waste from industry.

RESEARCH LINES

Isolation and biochemical characterization of proteins.
